“God put a million, million doors in the world for His love to walk through. One of those doors is you. I said, God put a million, million doors in the world for His love to walk through. One of those doors is you.” –Jason Gray “With Every Act of Love”
Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. “ The command to be loving and kind towards other people is found several different times in the Bible. Love and kindness are obviously very important if God repeats it in His word to us! At times, kindness and love are difficult though and only are possible with God’s help and strength. Have you ever realized that there are opportunities around us every day to show God’s love through us? What if we went out of our way to do acts of kindness to others? I am not talking about a random act of kindness. I am proposing planned and intentional acts of kindness!
I would like to start a new journey to intentionally spread love and show kindness once a week in a way that is not in my normal routine! I am not sure how long I will do this, but I do know that God has lead me to realize that showing His love through acts of kindness is what He wants me to do right now! These acts of kindness can be simple or complex, ordinary or unique, cost some money or be free and can be done to a loved one, friend or even to a stranger!
Would you like to join me?! I hope the acts of kindness that I do each week are contagious and that other people will start carrying them out too! The goal is for me to blog at the beginning of each week a new act of kindness and my experience with doing it. I encourage you to then in the coming week also carry out the same act of kindness! You can also comment below each blog and share your own experiences with the acts of kindness.
Here are some beautiful words that I have read on acts of kindness, “Sometimes it’s the simplest acts of kindness that have the most lasting effects. Sometimes ordinary things impact people in extraordinary ways. Sometimes, caring for others is more important than caring for ourselves. Show God’s love through the little things. Simple deeds can produce larger results than we expect. Simple acts can show the love of God through our actions… If you can form the habit to love others just as you are loved, then you have made one step closer to changing the world for Christ.”
Lets make going out of our way to show love and kindness a habit each week! Lets make it intentional and not random! Lets make spreading love and showing kindness contagious…man, what would a world full of love and kindness be like?!! So lets start NEXT WEEK!!
p.s. Why wait till my next blog post when you can start sharing kindness RIGHT NOW! Smile, make eye contact and say hello with several people you see over the next couple days (even strangers)! You do not know whose day you will be brightening!!
LOVE is what being a follower of Christ is all about! We should always shine bright, sharing God's love with the world. It is that love that makes people see something special in us... That special spark is God in us, working through us. I am excited to see how God will allow you to share His love!
